AS FEATURED IN

World leading Integrative Holistic Medical Care.

At the London Resilience Clinic our team led by world-leading Integrative & Cannabinoid Medicine expert Dr Dani Gordon specialise in the Integrative treatment of complex multi symptom mental health, pain and fatigue conditions including ASD, ADHD, EDS, Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS.

Many of our patients have previously seen multiple doctors for poorly managed conditions with multiple overlapping symptoms including:

Many of our patients are neurodiverse or have neurodiverse traits. Neurodiverse people commonly process emotions  differently and have altered gut microbiomes that impact the brain-gut-immune axis, affecting various symptoms including behaviour, mood, stress and pain signalling.

We help our patients feel better in the short term and recover and manage their conditions in the long term with the goal being dramatically improved quality of life.

How Standard Treatment Fails Complex Patients.

Standard medical treatment focuses almost solely on drug therapy. Specialists only treat symptoms in ‘their area’ with a pill-per-symptom approach. With patients with many overlapping symptoms this can often lead to a fragmented care team, multiple doctors and a cocktail of multiple ineffective drugs.

Some conditions do not have good medication treatment options and many patients do not respond well to medications alone, are sensitive to medications or simply prefer non medication options.

After exhausting the conventional treatment route, patients are often frustrated, overwhelmed from trying to research and manage their own treatment plans and disillusioned with medical treatment.

How Integrative Medicine Gets You Better Quicker.

Integrative Medicine includes both medication and non-medication treatments and in the US is the newest American Board of Physician Specialities (ABPS) subspecialty.

It addresses root causes and contributors of symptoms, reduces drug side effects and looks at symptom clusters for interrelatedness in order to treat the whole person more effectively with synergistic treatments. This results in patients feeling better quicker, more effective treatment outcomes and improved quality of life.

  1. Symptom relief and control with cannabinoids
  2. Root causes identified with functional medicine testing
  3. Long term recovery with microbiome / brain-gut-immune axis and nervous system regulation.

Integrative Treatments

Medication Management.

Integrative medicine doesn’t mean ‘anti-medication.’  When a medication may be necessary or helpful, we use a personalized approach to finding the best medication options for you, which may include alternate dosing regimens of standard medications, considering novel medicines, ‘repurposed’ medicines & pharmacogenomic testing to find the best medication tailored to your make-up and biochemistry to minimize side effects and maximize benefit.  In many cases, the integrative approach reduces the need for many medications and in some cases, can replace them entirely.

Cannabinoid Medicine.

Medical cannabis works by helping to modulate our own ECS (endocannabinoid system) in charge of regulation of mood, stress, pain control, sleep and mental function as well as inflammation and immune function.  It is a single well-tolerated and effective medicine that can be used to treat multiple symptoms where other treatments have failed leading to dramatically improved quality of life and relief from symptoms.  Significantly, they were more able to engage with their integrative programs, often with life changing results.

Functional Medicine.

Functional medicine involves the development of personalised treatment plans using advanced testing to identify the root causes of illness, especially when conventional medications have failed. Gut microbiome, micro-toxin, brain-gut axis and methylation pathway function tests are some of the tests available to develop personalised supplement, therapeutic diet and medication programs to improve patient outcomes.

Microbiome & Brain-Gut -Immune Axis Regulation.

Our gut microbiome impacts our brain, mental health, immune system, energy and overall health. Gut bacteria and microbes such as yeasts, moulds and protozoa produce chemicals that can change neurotransmitter production, having a direct effect on brain and energy function. Functional medicine can assess for maldigestion/absorption, inflammation, dysbiosis & metabolite imbalances that can impair the gut-brain axis to identify issues & treat to restore optimal function & improve symptoms that may seem unrelated to the gut at first glance.

Nervous System Regulation Devices

Neuromodulation devices are high tech home-use devices under medical guidance that help to regulate the nervous system and the mindbody connection that is usually dysregulated with chronic symptoms, from anxiety and mood swings/dips to chronic pain.   These devices help nudge the brain and nervous system into a more balanced state to reduce difficult symptoms.  Some work on vagal tone, which is low in a variety of chronic illness states as well as in ADHD and autism.  Others optimize alpha brain wave activity/states for sleep and anxiety relief and yet others work on improving HRV.   The device is chosen based on the individual person and symptom profile and often used in combination with a mindbody program including guided audio recordings and/or cannabinoid medicines to enhance the effects further.
