Adult ADHD Assessment in London
Formal, online adult ADHD assessment with short waiting times — and integrative, whole-body support if you’re diagnosed.

Adult ADHD assessment in London — with whole-body support
We offer formal, online adult ADHD assessments with short waiting times — often same-week or within one to two weeks — conducted by specialist ADHD doctors using gold-standard diagnostic tools. What makes our assessment different is what comes with it: rather than diagnose and hand you a single medication, we see ADHD as part of a whole-body picture and can support it with an integrative, personalised plan. This page explains how the assessment works, how to prepare, what happens afterwards, and what it costs.
A formal adult ADHD diagnostic assessment, done online by a specialist ADHD doctor, using a semi-structured interview and gold-standard tools such as the DIVA alongside in-depth questionnaires and input from a partner. You receive a comprehensive diagnostic report confirming whether you meet criteria for ADHD, including subtype. If you do — or if you have significant traits — the next step is a separate, personalised treatment-planning visit that can combine medication with functional medicine, nutrition, gut-brain work and nervous system regulation. Once treatment is stable we can request NHS shared care. Short waits, seen from home.
How the assessment works
We offer formal ADHD diagnostic assessments for adults via secure video consultation, with same-week appointments often available. All of our assessments are conducted by specialist ADHD doctors. The assessment visit is normally completed in 60–75 minutes. In some cases — where the history is complex, more information is needed, or the requested supporting documents and forms have not arrived before the appointment — an additional short follow-up consultation may be needed to complete the assessment.
As part of the process, adults complete in-depth pre-assessment questionnaires for ADHD, with additional forms completed by a partner or someone who knows you well. The diagnostic consultation with the physician is conducted in a semi-structured interview format using gold-standard ADHD assessment tools such as the DIVA, alongside a detailed developmental and clinical history.
Assessment tools and your diagnostic report
Our assessments are formal and recognised. Following your assessment you receive a comprehensive diagnostic report confirming whether you meet criteria for ADHD, including your ADHD subtype. The report documents the tools used, your history and the clinical reasoning behind the outcome, so it stands as a formal record you can use with your GP or employer.
How to prepare for your assessment
A few steps need to be completed before your appointment. The first two you can do from home; the others involve third parties or a purchase, so it helps to start them early to avoid delays.
1. Set up and complete your intake forms. New patients create a user account and complete the clinic intake form. All patients then complete the Adult ADHD Assessment questionnaire (with a section for a partner or someone who knows you well).
2. Request your medical history. Because ADHD treatment often involves stimulant medication — which is a controlled medicine — we need documentation to confirm parts of your medical history before prescribing safely. For most people the best option is your NHS GP Summary Care Record, which your GP is obliged to provide (it can take up to a week, so request it early). If you don’t have an NHS GP, a letter from a private GP or another medical doctor confirming your current medications, diagnoses and cardiac history is acceptable.
3. (Optional) Blood pressure reading. To prescribe stimulant medication safely we confirm your blood pressure and pulse before initial prescribing and at points during titration. A low-cost home blood pressure monitor (around £17) helps avoid delays, or you can have your reading taken at your GP or pharmacy. Blood pressure readings do not affect the ADHD assessment or diagnosis itself.
Steps that need a third party — your Summary Care Record in particular — are the most common cause of delay, so it’s worth starting them as soon as you book.
What happens after the assessment
If you meet criteria for ADHD — or even if you do not meet full criteria but have ADHD traits and related difficulties — the next step is creating a personalised, holistic treatment plan. This is booked as a separate visit from the diagnostic assessment. Treatment planning may include both medication and non-medication approaches, tailored to your symptoms, biochemistry, sensitivities, preferences and life circumstances.
You can read more about what that plan can involve on our holistic ADHD treatment page — from personalised medication and functional medicine testing to gut-brain and microbiome work, targeted nutraceuticals and nervous system regulation.
Why our ADHD approach is different
Most ADHD clinics diagnose ADHD and then offer a one-size-fits-all approach — typically escalating doses of stimulant medication as the primary or only treatment, sometimes alongside standard CBT. Many neurodivergent adults do not find this helpful, particularly when overlapping symptoms are never addressed and appointments only cover “core ADHD symptoms”.
At The London Resilience Clinic we do not see ADHD in a silo. We recognise that ADHD often overlaps with anxiety, mood symptoms, fatigue, sleep disorders, gut dysfunction, sensory sensitivities, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, EDS and other neurodivergence features. We don’t diagnose and forget: following diagnosis we use a personalised-medicine model that can address methylation pathways, the brain–gut–immune axis, nutraceutical and supplement protocols, therapeutic diets, and nervous system regulation geared for a neurodivergent brain — so the goal is not only better focus but meaningful improvements in quality of life, resilience and daily functioning. Our team is led by world-leading integrative medicine expert Dr Dani Gordon.
Medication, shared care and follow-up
Medication is an important part of ADHD treatment for many patients, and we have extensive experience prescribing ADHD medications using a more personalised dosing and drug-subtype selection approach. Once treatment is stable, we can request a shared-care arrangement with your NHS GP so prescriptions can be continued through the NHS. Acceptance of shared care is at the discretion of your GP. Under shared-care agreements, an annual psychiatric review is required, either with us or through NHS services.

Children and teenagers
We assess ADHD across the lifespan. Children and adolescents are seen by our consultant paediatrician, and their assessment additionally gathers input from a parent and, where possible, a teacher, alongside the same gold-standard tools and detailed history. The child and teen ADHD assessment is £1,200. You can find out more through our neurodivergent children pathway and neurodivergence hub.
